ow it's time to create a path to the mountains. Since you want to do this without having to build towers, have your pioneers  create a narrow strip of land leading to the mountains and then make enough space for building mines.

The pioneers are divided into two groups and lined into rows. At first the land takes the form of a group of 8's. The pioneers can be directed to the gaps so that a narrow path is formed from the 8's.

Your supplies of stone are gradually dwindling and the time has come to build a couple stonecutter's huts. You can continue expanding near the mountain and building more and more residences. If necessary, you can also build a forester's hut so that your wood production continues without any hitches. Keep in mind that the forester needs time to plant saplings and the trees take time to grow.

Residences should be built close together making it difficult for your opponent to tear them down when they aren't protected by a tower. 2 stonecutter's huts can provide the building stone you need and pioneers can expand your territory to include additional stone resources.

As soon as these matters have been taken care of, you can begin with the construction of your first large temple. Don't worry, it's not so expensive. It's very important, though, for being able to make your first military promotions. While the temple is under construction, you can attend to weapon production by building an iron smelting works and a weapon smith's works. At the same time, your pioneers can expand your territory on the mountain to include new iron and coal deposits.

Locating your temple on the green dots ensures that the diggers get their work done more quickly. Your big temple requires 15 boards, but these are delivered surprisingly quickly.
The iron smiths are already at work, the weapon smith's works is nearing completion, and the pioneers have already brought new deposits of iron and coal under your control. Bowmen RULE :o)

For the weapon production, you can focus on bows. These are the most effective weapons for warding off attacks on your pioneers. Since you don't have any towers, it is very likely that your opponent will use his pioneers in mounting an attack.

As soon as your first large temple has been completed, tear it down and begin construction of your second large temple on the same site. At the same time, you can build a barracks and stop recruiting because you want to fight with bowmen at the rank of sergeant. Pioneers can continue with the steady expansion of your territory.
