fter getting started with the building of the
medium residence, you can take a look around for the nearest source of building stone.
Keep in mind that the buildings will go up in the order that you place them on the map.
First come the diggers to clear and level the land, then the carriers realize that
building materials are needed and finally, when the building materials are delivered, the
builders go to work.

 |
| After getting
started with the medium residence, 3 stonecutter's huts follow. |
Along with the
initial supply of stone, the 3 new stonecutters provide enough stone to keep
construction going without delay. |
After the first 3 stonecutter's huts are
completed, two huts for the woodcutters and a sawmill can be built. If there aren't enough
trees, building a hut for a forester would be a good idea. Then it's time for 2 more huts
for stonecutters and your second medium residence.

 |
| As soon as the
first carriers seem to be just hanging around, they can be recruited as pioneers and sent
in search of new sources of stone. Sometimes it is a good idea to build a guard tower. |
At the same
time, geologists can be prospecting for gems to prepare for a rapid increase in fighting
strength. Guard towers can be built at the beginning to support the expansion efforts of
your pioneers. |
Building a couple storage areas near the
location of your future weapon production sites is a sensible plan. You can store jewels,
weapons and building stone there - building your weapon production site will be faster
with stone in the area, and delivery of the weapons to the barracks will be speeded up as
well.
 |
 |
| The geologists
have discovered gem deposits! There is no time to lose in getting the mountains within
your territory. This is a job for your pioneers. |
You can tear
down your guard towers with a clear conscience. Remember to leave one standing though! |
 |
 |
| You have the
mountain within your territory, and the gems can be mined. |
Building stone
is stored to ensure the fastest possible delivery to the construction sites. |
After finishing the build-up of your
construction industry, you should have the following buildings:
| Building |
Number |
| Woodcutter's huts |
2 |
| Forester's huts |
0-1 |
| Sawmills |
1 |
| Stonecutter's huts |
5 |
| Residences (medium) |
2-3 |
In the initial stages of the game, guard towers are
significantly more effective than pioneers in expanding your territory. The few Settlers
that are at your disposal are urgently needed for construction activities. The more
Settlers who are standing around idly as time goes by, the more pioneers you can recruit.
You should always keep in mind, though, that you might need a number of free Settlers
quickly. After building an iron smelting works and tool smith's works, 18 carriers will be
needed, for example. To reach a distant goal, pioneers are positioned like links in a
chain from your border to your goal. In this way you can create a corridor which allows
for the transport of building materials and the passage of your Settler craftsmen.

smelting works ... |
... and the
tool smith's works are constructed near the mountain. |
